Description
Also known as Aleppo soap, this amazing soap is made in Syria and is thought to be the oldest soap in the world. It is made using the ‘hot process’ and then cooled for between 6 months and a year. It is extremely gentle and is suitable for the most delicate skins (including babies and eczema prone skin). If you have been following my blog for a while you will already know that I brush my teeth with this soap, and more recently I have switched to washing my hair with it too. I don’t use any conditioning rinse anymore (I used to use diluted apple cider vinegar but I don’t feel I need to anymore), and my hair looks shiny and lustrous after I’ve washed it. I wash my children’s hair with it too, although I try not to wash their hair too often anyway. Because it is such a hard soap it lasts for ages, although to get the most out of your soap, do make sure you let it dry out completely between uses.
If you are interested, you can read about how I began brushing my teeth with soap in this blog post: “We brush our teeth with soap”.
Note: We have a whole house water filter, meaning that even our shower water is filtered. I don’t know how this soap would work for hair washing in chlorinated town supply water.

Great soap! Thanks. It helps with my skin condition (eczema) & shaving as it keeps it moisturized but I’ve had to revert back to some low steroidal cremes as I’ve had a big flare up recently which is unfortunate. Great service Esther! Thanks

This soap is amazing. After using your skin doesn’t feel stripped of moisture. Haven’t tried it for brushing teeth yet:/

Absolutely loving this soap, it works up to a really thick lather without any effort at all.
Our shower water is not filtered and this still works perfectly… it leaves my hair feeling really clean and shiny plus I don’t even need conditioner afterwards. This is a great price for a great item that I will use forever now!

Thank you Mrs Goodness for introducing us to Sabun soap – where have I been? This stuff is wonderful, my husband (who is prone to eczma), and I now use this for body and hair. We’ve been using castille soaps for years but this one feels purer than pure and is amazing value. The next step is teeth…..
