You may have noticed yourself that the teabags in your compost heap degrade mostly, but not completely. A lot of paper teabags are also treated with epichlorohydrin, a potential carcinogen used in the production of epoxy resins.

So what can you do? Drink loose leaf tea from a handmade organic cotton/linen teabag that you can use over and over again!  It’s easy to clean and you can tip used tea leaves out into your compost garden.
